Outstanding in the Field

LAST NIGHT’S Dinner/Awards Ceremony for San Francisco’s Foodbuzz Festival featured a five course meal held at the GreenLeaf Produce warehouse and catered by Outstanding in the Field.

You can’t go wrong when the food is good and the company is even better.

If you forced me to cast a vote for a favorite food item of the evening, I’d pick the Brussels sprouts — a striking dish combining both sharp flavors and crunchy texture.

“Sharp” and “crunchy” could also be used to describe my dining companions: Stephanie (Stephchows), Jennifer (foodzings), Josie (DaydreamerDesserts), Zach (Midtown Lunch) and Shoshana (Natural Chef).

AFTER DINNER, Foodbuzz presented the site’s first Blogger Awards — and I’m sure a formal announcement of winners will be released soon. (UPDATE: List available here.)

THE WINES OF BONNY DOON VINEYARD — generously poured by holy terroir Randall Grahm — were also a favorite of the evening — as was my conversation with fellow blogger Sherman (Sherman’s Food Adventures) on the bus ride back to Hotel Vitale.

Thanks for the company Kate! It was truly a pleasure meeting you. I had so much fun mingling with people with the same passion for food and life. I hope to see you again sometime!
